We picked 4 bulb types varying in planting depth from 20cm to 5cm and we also wanted it to be colourful so picked shades of orange, blues and purple! 😍

Basic steps below:

1. Mixed fresh compost with gravel and slow release fertiliser for the bottom layer in the pot

2. Planted our deepest bulb (20cm) which was Fritillaria Rubra in the middle as this will grow to 100cm high

3. Covered this bulb in approx 5cm deep of compost

4. Planted our next layer of bulbs (15cm deep) which were Allium Spaerocephalon, also a tall bulb so these were planted around the edges approx 10cm apart

5. Covered these bulbs in approx 5cm deep of compost

6. Planted our next layer of bulbs (10cm deep) which were Tulip Esperanto and these were planted in the gaps from the layer below also 10cm apart

7. Covered these bulbs in approx 5cm deep of compost

8. Planted our final layer of bulbs (5cm deep) which were Anemone Mr Fokker (😂) and these were planted in the gaps from all the layers below

9. Covered these bulbs with approx 5cm deep of compost

10. Finished and that’s Harrison’s version of a thumbs up!! 😂🙈👆🏻

This planter will sit on our patio whilst we wait for our bulbs to “cook” ready to see our hopefully amazing looking “bulb lasagne” next Spring!!! 🤞🏼🥰
