Planting and Care:

Plant out after all risk of frost has passed in a sunny, sheltered position. Prepare the planting area with well-rotted compost or organic matter to improve fertility and drainage. Water regularly during dry spells and feed fortnightly with a high-potash fertiliser once buds begin to form. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering. Pinch out the growing tip when the plant reaches around 30 cm to promote a bushier habit and more flowers. Support taller stems with a stake if needed. In autumn, once the foliage has been blackened by frost, cut back the stems and either lift the tubers for storage in a cool, frost-free place or apply a generous mulch for winter protection in milder regions.
