Plant Care:

• Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can scorch and yellow the frond tips.


• Watering: Water when the top few centimetres of compost feel dry to the touch. Ensure good drainage and avoid waterlogging. Reduce watering during winter months.


• Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity. Mist the fronds regularly, especially during the heating season, or place on a pebble tray filled with water to boost moisture levels.


• Temperature: Prefers consistent warmth between 16–24°C. Avoid cold draughts, open windows in winter, and proximity to radiators.


• Feeding: Apply a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser once a month during the growing season (spring through summer). No feeding required in autumn and winter.


• Repotting: Repot every two to three years in spring using a well-draining, peat-free houseplant compost. The Areca Palm prefers to be slightly snug in its pot.


• Pruning: Remove any brown or yellowing fronds at the base to keep the plant looking tidy and to encourage healthy new growth.
